Media Bias
I’m not a hard core ultra right wing nut. I’m conservative on most issues, moderate on others, but not liberal by any stretch. I like to get viewpoints from across the spectrum and as such I listen to some conservative talk radio, watch a variety of news programs including Glen Beck, the O’Reilly Factor, Countdown with Keith Olbermann, and generally try to stay informed and see things from various viewpoints and make up my own mind. What has blown me away is how biased this election cycle has been. Not as much in the primary season, although I believe there was some of that. It became clear today as you read headlines about McCain’s pick of Sarah Palin. Check these out:
‘What is it exactly that the VP does every day?’
McCain V.P. pick younger, less experienced than Obama
McCain and Palin disagree on arctic drilling
Very little talk about the historic pick that he had made (in terms of the Republican party at least), or the accomplishments that she definitely can point to. I think she delivered a solid acceptance speech and deserves more respect. I think it was a solid pick by McCain.
