In Search of a Sistah Souljah Moment

This blogger had some interesting highlights on the MoveOn ad that came out in the New York Times prior to General Petraeus’s testifying before the House and Senate.

Main Point, Not one democrat has stood up and denounced this ad (not that they have to). Mayor Ed Koch thinks this is despicable and wishes one of then front-running democratic candidates would have the morals to step up and make some comment against it.

However, if those comments don’t come out willingly or timely (without any coercion) IMO any statement made at this point is worthless, carries no barring/ weight with me.

I remember a cartoon in Newsweek right after President Clinton ordered ground troops to Bosnia. In the next-to-last frame of the cartoon, President Clinton is telling them that he’s proud of them & that he wishes them a successful return. Then, in the final frame, he says “And don’t do anything that I wouldn’t do.” Unexpectedly, the troops say in unison “We’re already doing something you wouldn’t do” in direct reference to his avoiding the draft.
